Why I love helping people buy and sell homes in Decatur and intown Atlanta
If you ask me why I became a real estate agent in Atlanta, the answer is simple. This place is home.
I have lived in the City of Decatur for 13 years, and before that I spent five years in Medlock Park. Between those neighborhoods, I have raised my kids here, walked these streets daily, renovated old homes, and built a deep appreciation for what makes Decatur, North Decatur, Kirkwood, Candler Park, East Lake, Virginia Highlands and the other amazing intown neighborhoods (you know who you are!) so very special. This is not just where I work. It is where my life happens!
“Imagine: you can walk to dinner, run into neighbors at the coffee shop, and always find something fun to do on a random weeknight or weekend.”
One of the biggest reasons we chose to stay in Decatur is the lifestyle. The walkability, the schools, the neighborhood parks, and the sense of community are incredibly hard to beat. Imagine: you can walk to dinner, run into neighbors at the coffee shop, and always find something fun to do on a random weeknight or weekend. From festivals to school events to local restaurants, there is a constant feeling of connection here that people notice right away when they move in.
Loved working with the Seller’s on this gorgeous property in Old Fourth Ward, right by the amazing Ponce City Market!
It’s hard not to be drawn to the homes in this area. Many of the houses in Decatur, Kirkwood, Medlock Park, and surrounding intown neighborhoods were built between the 1920s and 1960s. These homes have SO MUCH character, history, and craftsmanship that you simply cannot replicate. I have renovated multiple older homes myself, so I understand what comes with buying and owning an older house. I know where to look, what questions to ask, and how to help buyers see both the charm and the potential without fear.
My real estate business reflects the diversity of the neighborhoods I serve. I work with first-time homebuyers who are excited and nervous all at once. I help move up buyers who need more space but want to stay in the community they love. I work closely with sellers who are ready for their next chapter, as well as relocations coming into Atlanta who need guidance from someone who truly knows the area. I also work with long time local homeowners who want a thoughtful, strategic plan to sell their home well.
What ties all of this together is relationships. Every sale has a story behind it. Families growing, downsizing, moving closer to loved ones, or starting fresh somewhere new. My job is not just about contracts and closing dates. It is about listening, advocating, and making the process feel manageable and even enjoyable.
If you are looking to buy or sell a home in Decatur, Kirkwood, Tucker or intown Atlanta, I bring both local knowledge and personal experience to the table. I know these streets, these schools, these homes, and this market because I live it every day. Whether you are buying your first home, selling a house full of memories, or planning your next move, I would love to help you navigate it with confidence and care.
If you are curious about the market, thinking about a move, or just want to talk through options, I am always happy to connect! Cheers! - Sara
